What is it? I have swollen tonsils with white spots. I get them often. Is there a way to prevent it without having them removed?
Tonsils "stones": This sounds like what we call tonsils stones - impacted mucus and food debris that gets colonized with bacteria. Simple measures first: treat underlying acid reflux even if you don't have typical symptoms - try some over the counter antacids. Treat nasal drainage. You can do this with nasal steroids or nasal saline washes like ChitoRhino. And simple salt water gargles. Try that for about 6 weeks. ...Read more
Possibly some relief: White spots on tonsils typically are either food or from strep bacteria - strep throat. See your MD for evaluation and swab as needed. Mouthwash - listerine which kills bacteria - may offer some help temporarily. Hot salt water rinses will also soothe. (1tsp salt / 10-12 oz. water). Get in to be seen and treated and back to comfort. Good Luck. ...Read more

I have swollen tonsils with white spots on them. There is no pain or sore throat. I don't have any other symptoms.?

Antibiotics should not be used unnecessarily but the tonsils sound infected. See someone ASAP and get treatment. Fever may not always be the only sign to look for. I hope you feel better soon. ...Read more
