Tonsilloliths: From your description, I have to guess that you have already had your tonsils out. If the color is a flesh color or pink or even red, it could be residual tonsillar tissue that was either incompletely removed or it could be tonsil from the back of your tongue. It is not uncommon to have earaches with pain in the tonsil beds, so it is probably referred pain. This might explain the glands, too. ...Read more

Left ear and left side of throat hurt, left glands swollen. Cold compress helps a bit. I got a quick glance this morning, tonsil didn't look too big.

Most likely viral: With symptoms just starting today you are likely suffering from viral infection. Try symptomatic management first with increased rest and hydration, salt water gargle, tea with honey, NSAIDs like ibuprofen for pain.
