This is a form of folliculitis or infection of these small nasal hairs. It often requires treatment, but the best form of treatment is a topical antibiotic ointment. Time for eval: It would be best if you have this evaluated. There is a small but real risk that an injury could create a blood pocket next to the bone that supports the middle of your nose. Depends.: Not sure how long out from surgery we are speaking about but the first thing is to sit down with your ENT or surgeon to discuss the result and see if he/she thinks the appearance is normal or expected at your length of time from surgery. My nose is swollen, I am wondering how long it will take to be completely healed or close to almost healed I have used ice for one day no longer than an hour but that's it.
I am assuming it is swollen from a blow to the nose from a fight or an accident. Typically it takes about a week to ten days for the swelling to go down. Ice is actually a good idea, but you will need to ice it more frequently. Also an over the counter anti-inflammatory medication like Ibuprofen or advil (ibuprofen) will help. Also avoid any further trauma to your nose.
If the swelling does not improve or the pain increases seek medical attention.
Best of luck. ...Read more

When I move the tip of nose from side to side, it cracks. I feel no pain, I have never broken my nose, and it has become a habit. Is this harmful?
No: It sounds as if you are experiencing overlapping of the cartilages. Occasionally, this may occur as a result of laxity.
