Time for eval: It would be best if you have this evaluated. There is a small but real risk that an injury could create a blood pocket next to the bone that supports the middle of your nose. That pocket could become infected with nasal germs and cause real problems. A broken nose can also sometimes be realigned in the first day or so and avoid more extensive treatment. ...Read more

Depends.: Not sure how long out from surgery we are speaking about but the first thing is to sit down with your ENT or surgeon to discuss the result and see if he/she thinks the appearance is normal or expected at your length of time from surgery. My nose is swollen, I am wondering how long it will take to be completely healed or close to almost healed I have used ice for one day no longer than an hour but that's it.

My nose is swollen, I am wondering how long it will take to be completely healed or close to almost healed I have used ice for one day no longer than an hour but that's it.

I: I am assuming it is swollen from a blow to the nose from a fight or an accident. Typically it takes about a week to ten days for the swelling to go down. Ice is actually a good idea, but you will need to ice it more frequently. Also an over the counter anti-inflammatory medication like Ibuprofen or advil (ibuprofen) will help. Also avoid any further trauma to your nose.
If the swelling does not improve or the pain increases seek medical attention.
Best of luck. ...Read more
