The back of the tongue is a part of another lymphatic region known as waldeyer's ring and people can develop lymphoma there, but swollen tastebuds is not a common appearance for lymphoma. Possibly: If you recently ate something very hot this could be the result. Most of the time people burn the roofs of their mouth when eating or drinking something hot but the tongue happens often also. If it is a burn you should be ok and the symptom should resolve within a few days. ...Read more

Why have I been getting a good amount of swollen taste buds on the tip of my tongue that turn into ulcers then go away, but come back. Is this serious?

Check your diet: Many people get swollen or inflamed taste buds and they can be quite painful. They usually break open or ulcerate and then heal. Often certain foods can be triggers for these. Keep a diary of what you are eating and when you get the taste buds then you should be able to eliminate the culprit. For me it tends to be when I eat a large amount of vitamin C containing foods. ...Read more

See a doctor: You also asked about gential violet for vaginal yeast infection. See my reply to that question. Oral thrush is uncommon in otherwise healthy persons. "Painless white stuff" usually isn't yeast (thrush), just a garden variety "coated tongue", which can occur with colds and any number of minor health issues. Don't use GV, which isn't recommended for oral treatment. See a doctor for both problems. ...Read more
