If you have been exposed to someone with strep throat, then you should be evaluated and treated. Untreated strep throat can have other more serious complications. You should be evaluated. There are several urgent cares available that have generous policies for patients without insurance. Call around and see if you can find an option that you can afford.

My friend had a fever, headache, sore throat and he has swollen lymph nodes in neck, what is the cause and how to cure him?

Streph Throat test

Please encourage your friend to see the doctor for a streph throat test. He could have mononucleosis, streph throat or a viral infection. Tx depends on the cause. Consider Tylenol or nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medications. Saltwater gargles: Mix 1 tsp salt in 8 oz warm water – gargle several times a day. Or gargle with Aloe Vera juice twice a day.

Monitoring Centers

Pharynx
Lymphatic system absorbs/carries things too big to go into the arteries/veins like bacteria eaten by white cells and digested food. Lymph Nodes "taste" the lymph for anything bad like bacteria/viruses/cancers, etc. When it detects a problem, it alerts the immune system and your body reacts. They enlarge in response to the inflammation they create when they react. They shrink when all is well

Likely what you are describing is something called LYMPHADENOPATHY, which is swelling and inflammation of lymph nodes. This can lead to pain and can be aggravated by movement, depending on the location of the swollen lymph node. Generally speaking, most lymphadenopathy is caused by infectious processes. This could be viral or bacterial. If it is bacterial, the antibiotics can help.Try Advil too

While most of the sore throats are due to viral infection, but sore throat with swollen glands can be more than that. You need to consult your medical doctor to rule out strep throat which requires a course of antibiotics. It can also be a sign of Infectious mononucleosis. So see your doc to find out what it is and get treated properly.

Sore throat, hurts to swallow, one swollen neck lymph node?

Virus

Sore_throat
Statistically, it's a viral infection. If fever accompanies the sore throat, or it lasts for more than 72 hours, or if your pain gets so bad to prevent even swallowing your saliva, then see your doctor.
