Swollen Sore Lymph Nodes Groin
You need to see MD: Swollen tender lymph node is sign of infection or inflammation. In this particular region they drain the genital area and part of the thigh, that means it could be an infection or inflammation in those areas. I would recommend seeing a physician, specially if you have been sexually active or have any genital ulcer/lesion. I hope you will feel better. ...Read more

See a doctor: Swelling of groin lymph should be investigated. Typically, groin lymph nodes don't swell with throat infections given the distance. In most cases, regional lymph nodes respond to infections closest to them. See a doctor for further evaluation. Good health. ...Read more

There's no way to tell the difference easily. You should see a doctor, who might recommend antibiotic treatment, depending on how large and how inflamed the lymph nodes are. You shouldn't try to figure this out or treat it without medical advice. Good luck! ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
A year ago I got swollen lymph nodes in groin that went away, now I have swollen lymph nodes again. It isn't sore and I also have in my neck. Cancer?

To rule out: The normalcy of those tests are encouraging and provide good prognostic indicators of a decreased "disease state." but, the definitive diagnosis and gold standard to rule out any pathology of lymphadenopathy that persists despite treatment of any possible infectious cause is biopsy. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Have had 2 swollen lymph nodes in my groin and small in throat~1month dr not worried perfect cbc now saw a red bump on tonsil/sore throat very scrd!!!
Sore, swollen lymph nodes under my right arm for 8 months. Spread to groin, & behind both knees. Ct scan neg. Had two sonograms under right arm, but surgeons say nodes not big enough to biopsy?
May need 2nd opinion: Sore lymph nodes are usually inflammatory and not malignant. I'm assuming that your nodes are less than 1 cm in size if your surgeon says they are too small to biopsy. Malignant nodes usually grow slowly to greater than 1cm. That is not an absolute rule and biopsy can be considered if nodes are persistent and are otherwise unexplained. If they persist and are concerning, get another opinion. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
