Pain at the base of pinky toe. pain was very sudden. Cannot put any pressure on it.I have been walking a lot more than normal. What could it be?
Pain: There is a joint at the base of your pinky toe. The joint my be swollen or inflammed. Prob broken: Sounds like you may have broken your toe. It's a good idea to get x-Rays done to see the extent of the damage. GENTLY tape your pinky toe to your 4th toe and wear protective footwear, but nothing that's going to put pressure on it. ...Read more
Wart or callous?: Hard to say based on your description. Strange for a kid to get a single callous on pinky toe, although I suppose it is possible. It is more likely a type of wart, for which an OTC salycilic acid preparation may be used. Neither callouses nor warts "swell."
