My perineum is swollen, and painful to the touch. For 3 days now. It's not the 1st time probably the 3rd time and comes like every 6 months. Help pls. What could it be? How do I treat it from home?
Don't irritate area:
The simplest thing you could do is to not irritate the area any further. That means don't scratch the perineum and wear loose fitting undergarments like cotton underwear. This will require a little bit of will power but you will thank yourself later. You could also cut your finger nails just in case to prevent anymore irritation.
If this does not work than you could seek further medical help. ...Read more
See your doctor.: The perineum is the area between the anus and the vagina/penis. Swollen veins are not common in this area and I have not seen this ever in many years of practice although anything is possible. I would be more concerned with a perianal abscess or fistulo in ano or some other infection or inflammatory process. It would be most prudent for you to see either your ob/gyn or a surgeon. ...Read more

I had a lump in my perineum for about 3 years. And it gets big and then small. But this time u could. Really. See it cause. It s so swollen.
My perineum has been swollen for a couple days. At times it is painful to sit and walk about. My boyfriend and I had sex the day before it and I think?
Itchy anus for a few months and is painful when I go to the toilet. Can see 2 white tags half a cm from anus. Perineum is also swollen.
What you described suggest anal fissure. It would help to keep your stool soft to give the tears time to heal. Use a fiber laxative like Metamucil and drink enough water so that your urine is colorless. If it does not get better in three months after having consistently soft stools it would be time to see a doctor.

Needs to be seen: Lumps, bumps, blisters and other skin abnormalities on the genitals need to be evaluated. An examination will be needed to know the cause and treatment. Folliculitis is one possibility. Yeast is a possibility and over the counter fungal cream will fix it. Trauma from recent intercourse if possible. Herpes is an std which can cause this. Other possibilities too. Schedule an exam. ...Read more

Been experiencing Constipation, noticed small bump in rectal area (maybe hemorrhoids) now perineum feels a bit hard and swollen on the rectal side?
Hard bump: There are internal and external hemorrhoids. And you have constipation which may well be a proximal cause for your hemorrhoids. So first, get over constipation by altering diet (no rice, oatmeal, barley, bananas, milk) and Miralax (polyethylene glycol). Basically a bowel prep. Hopefully the bump will largely resolve itself by then. If not your GI doc will thank u for being so considerate. ...Read more

I had constipation and after I had intense burning like something tore now I have a bulge I can feel under the. Skin of my perineum swollen rectum?
Thrombosed hemorrhoi: Sounds like you have a thrombosed hemorrhoid. The best thing to do is soak in a warm bath a few times a day and the pain and swelling will subside in a few days. Make sure you avoid getting constipated by adding fiber to your diet. If the pain is just unbearable, see a colon and rectal surgeon who can excise the hemorrhoid to help speed up the process. Creams and lotions are a waste of money. ...Read more
Can a speculum from a vaginal exam cause an injury that leads to pain in the perineum area (while wiping) and a swollen lymph node in groin for a week?
Probably not, but...: It's unlikely the speculum exam caused this problem. I wouldn't say it's impossible, but I would want to know the reason for your pelvic exam a week ago and whether that problem is the cause of your symptoms. Either way, contact the doctor's office; they'll want to check this out. Good luck. ...Read more
