I have swollen lymph nodes in the neck one under left of chin and one in back of head right side don't have any symptoms had them for about 3 months?

Monitoring Centers: Lymphatic system absorbs/carries things too big to go into the arteries/veins like bacteria eaten by white cells and digested food. Lymph nodes "taste" the lymph for anything bad like bacteria/viruses/cancers, etc. When it detects a problem, it alerts the immune system and your body reacts. They enlarge in response to the inflammation they create when they react. They shrink when all is well. ...Read more

Have a whole line of swollen painful occipital lymph nodes.. behind my ear in the hairline and down my neck ? Neck is very painful?

Infection: Your lymph nodes are a line of defense against infection and sometimes allergic reactions in your body. When they swell, they are fighting the infection. In your case, they are probably overworked and probably need the assistance of an antibiotic. If they do not respond to treatment, blood tests may be helpful to determine other causes. ...Read more

What would cause lymph nodes to swell on back of head. Under 1.5 CM but on both sides. Swell up and down. ?

Lymph node swelling: Lymph nodes are part of your body's natural defense against both infections and foreign objects. Random swelling of lymph nodes. Lymph nodes on right jaw line swollen and painful! Doctor gave augmentin, (amoxicillin and clavulanate) went away...now back again. Any ideas?

Salivary nodes: These bumps may be swollen salivary glands that can get blocked by calcium deposits and then become infected. Easily treated with augmentin, (amoxicillin and clavulanate) but if infection returns I would seek attention from an ENT to see if the salivary duct is blocked. If this a lymph node infection, a biopsy is might be needed to determine the source of infection. ...Read more

My toddler has lymph nodes on back of head. They feel like they are stuck together. I feel an indent between them but they move together. Normal?

Likely normal: Those nodes on the back of the head, the occipital nodes, service most of the scalp. So if your toddler has any scalp irritation, be it a little cradle cap to bug bites on scalp to irritation from too tight of braiding of hair, these nodes can enlarge and wax and wane in size. As long as they are not getting bigger...Bigger...Bigger, and are not red/hot/very tender, they can be watched. ...Read more
