Swollen Painful Glands In Throat
I have a cold for the last week. A few days ago, I went to the doctor & was given Augmentin. Took 3 doses so far (a day & a half), but have very painful swollen glands in throat/neck. When will the antibiotic kick in & the swollen glands feel better?

Tonsillitis?: If the gland is inside it could be tonsillitis. If it is outside we call it adenopathy. They are lymph glands which the body uses in response to inflammation or infection or foreign body irritation. It still could be infection in nature, and strep is no the only cause of infection.
