Finger pain: Inflammation of joints or arthritis is one possibility, but simple overuse and sprain may be the cause. Arthritis symptoms would last longer and be accompanied by joint tenderness and morning stiffness may be present. If symptoms persist consult a rheumatologist for evaluation, advice and treatment. Not necessarily: To diagnose diabetes your doctor would need to test your blood glucose and/or A1c level. It is good that you quit smoking. Losing weight is not easy and it gets harder with increasing age. Joining a group like weight watchers may help.
Wish you good health! - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form.

Swelling from break: The fracture causes inflammation, which impedes the normal flow of lymph from the hand to the arm and then into the central veins. Because of this slowdown, your fingers are a little swollen and feel stiff.

Elevating your arm, which gives the flow a boost from gravity, might help.

Sounds like you may: Be having Trigger Thumb and Finger (s).
See an Orthopedist to have confirm the Dx and then maybe steroid shot maybe helpful or you might be needing surgery to release it.
