Bruise.: It is probably is bruised. Cold application for 24 hours to prevent swelling. Apply heat to dissipate the trapped blood. To remove all doubt, consult a hand specialist. Read more

Palm Lumps may: Be dupuytren's disease. A common genetic disorder that can present in a variety of ways. Swollen finger knucles can be a part of this known as garrod's knuckles. Other cause of swollen painful knuckles and fingers are gouty arthritis, inflamm arthritides, psoriatic arthritis and lyme first line treatment for swelling is rest ice and otc meds but if getting worse fast get to a doc to r/o infection. Trigger finger: It sounds like you have a trigger finger. The tendon that flexes your index finger travels through tunnels or pulleys that keep the tendon close to the bone. Inflammation or masses on the tendon can get caught in the tunnel system preventing movement, causing more inflammation and discomfort. Anti inflammatory medication may help but you should see a hand surgeon. Read more

Which thumb joint: There are three basic thumb joints. If this is at the bottom of the thumb, this is the carpometacarpal joint. It is commonly involved in osteoarthritis. And you may have had some irritation in the joint because of the severe pain. You can discuss this with the physician, there are some splints she can wear, you can have an injection, there are medicines that you can take. Read more
