Be concerned: Inflammation or tumors of the lip will involve lymph nodes under the chin or along the lower edge of the mandible. Most nodes are < 1 cm and soft. Lymphadenopathy: It would not be unreasonable for this boy to have swollen lymph nodes on the side of an injury, abrasion, or other inflammation. I see no reason to suspect leukemia, so don't concern yourself with that. Just indicate the finding to the ENT surgeon as you check in for his tympanoplasty. ...Read more
