Had craniotomy surgery two months ago and about a month I developed a swollen lymph node under ear side of surgery. Doc not concerned. Need testing?
Most likely not: The lymph nodes are like our drainage system. After a major surgery like that, there is bound to be some inflammation, cell debris that the lymph nodes have to handle. When they do, they typically become enlarged and/or hard/palpable. It should resolve in time, but isn't anything to be "worried" about. More info needed: Have you had any recent viral illness. Often viral illness can be associated with swollen glands. Any swollen glands under your arms or in your groin area? Thyroid issues need to be checked for as well, if you have the area you described as tender. Lymph nodes in these: Areas carry lymph from the scalp and ears. Since it is on both sides, assuming that your ears are ok, check your scalp.
