What can mean swollen lymph nodes in the groin area?

What can mean swollen lymph nodes in the groin area?

However, if your groin nodes seem getting larger over times, you should check with your doctor since besides infection, many cancers can cause this. Some examples are lymphoma, melanoma, or testicular cancer (in men), or cervical cancer (in women). ...Read more

What could cause a swollen lymph node in the groin area when there is no infection in the body?

What could cause a swollen lymph node in the groin area when there is no infection in the body?

Monitoring Centers: Lymphatic system absorbs/carries things too big to go into the arteries/veins like bacteria eaten by white cells/digested food. Lymph nodes "taste" the lymph everywhere for bad stuff like bacteria/viruses/cancers, etc. When it detects a problem, it alerts the immune system and your body reacts. They enlarge in response to the inflammation they create when they react. They shrink when all is well. ...Read more

I was diagnosed with MRSA about a week ago, put on antibiotics and the site drained a few days later. I've developed a painful swollen lymph node in the groin area. It's oddly shaped. Should I go back in or give my body time? I'm still on antibiotics.

I was diagnosed with MRSA about a week ago, put on antibiotics and the site drained a few days later. I've developed a painful swollen lymph node in the groin area. It's oddly shaped. Should I go back in or give my body time? I'm still on antibiotics.

Go back in: You need to have this node evaluated as it is unusual to develop new nodes while you are on antibiotics. This may be an abscess that needs drainage. Make sure that you are also doing other things to prevent the spread of MRSA including using Hibiclens as a body wash, sanitizing everything in the bathroom with bleach/water combination and using Bactroban (mupirocin) ointment in the nose for two weeks. ...Read more
