Swollen Lymph Nodes In Neck And Rash
Hi doc experiencing swollen lymph node in neck itchy skin rash otc cream helps low grade fevers positive ana but negative for all autoimmune diseases?
Slightly swollen lymph nodes in neck occurring every now and then. Have an itch scalp with rash going down neck, back and ears. I'm also moody lately.
Rash: It may be the rash on your scalp that is traveling down your neck and to your ears and back is causing swelling of your lymph nodes. Sometimes medical problems can cause moodiness or it may be a separate issue. Be examined by your doctor for a diagnosis and treatment. Tell him/her about your feelings. Feel better soon :-)
Treat the cause: Swollen lymph nodes are usually due to an infection in the area and some times due to tumors such as lymphoma. It is not feasible to know the casue without a history, physical examination and may be lab tests.
Swollen lymph nodes in neck and now I've been told I have low iron could that be the problem of my swollen lymph nodes?
Have swollen lymph nodes in neck got a sonography done today and the doctoe said it is nothing to worry. They r 1.5×.90 cms in size. Is it ok.
Lymphadenopathy: Without having all your medical records and the ability to examine you and review your imaging studies it is impossible to say, but it sounds on the surface as if you should be trusting your doctor's opinion. Good luck.
Swollen lymph nodes in neck, that are all soft. Moveable and under 1cm except one is 1.5 cm. Temps of 99.2 frequently and chills? Been for 3 years!
Go to see MD: You should go to see your doctor and get yourself checked. There are different things like autoimmune disorder, infection, chronic inflammation or malignancy - at your age- hodgkin's lymphoma, testicular cancer are things to be ruled out. However since you mentioned that it has been there for 3 years -then hodgkin's, leukemia /ca would be less likely-as the problem. Go to see your doc for eval.
In several: Areas makes one think of a generalized infection or lymphoma.
Infection to tumor: The dx of swollen lymph nodes in neck depends on size, location and symptoms of pain. In upper neck 2 nodes can represent spread of throat infection to ear, spread from parotid gland. In mid neck tumor can arise from metastatic thyroid and in supraclavicular fossa, an upward spread from lungs. Biopsy if persistent or enlarging can show lymphoma, infection or tumor metastatic tumor.
Monitoring Centers: Lymphatic system absorbs/carries things too big to go into the arteries/veins like bacteria eaten by white cells and digested food. Lymph nodes "taste" the lymph for anything bad like bacteria/viruses/cancers, etc. When it detects a problem, it alerts the immune system and your body reacts. They enlarge in response to the inflammation they create when they react. They shrink when all is well.
Inflammation in H&N: Painful swollen nodes an indication of an inflammatory process in the H&N area. If the nodes are high in the posterior neck region, examine the scalp for an infection. If in anterior triangle mid neck one should do endoscopy to see if lesion in area of larynx or cords. In supraclavicular area, inflammation apex of lung can cause the problem and chest X ray can help. Bx if necessary.
Get an exam: With your doc. Lymph nodes do not go up and down in 8-12 hrs.
They are palpable: Normal sized lymph nodes are quite small and not palpable. If the nodes enlarge to a size of 1 to 2 cm, then they are palpable if you run down your fingers over the skin of your neck. Very large lymph nodes (over 2 inches in size) can be visible to the eye. But that is pretty late to discover them.
See a doctor: Painful, enlarged lymph nodes in the neck should be checked out by a doctor. They could be a symptom of a serious infection or worse yet a tumor.
No: Lymph nodes enlargement in general will not affect swallowing.
Yes: Mri is sensitive for any masses including the lymph node even if you cannot feel them.
Multiple HIV negative tests tell 7 months from last exposure, but still many small swollen lymph nodes in neck that are chronic. I'm a smoker?
Not HIV: The HIV blood tests are among the most accurate diagnostic tests ever developed, for any medical condition. If enough time has passed since the last possible exposure (usually only 6 weeks for the modern, standard HIV tests), a negative results always overrules symptoms and exposure history. And of course many minor conditions cause small lymph nodes like this. For sure it's not HIV. Stop testing.
What do you suggest if my son (3) has swollen lymph nodes in neck and groin but bloods all normal should I still be worried?
Depends on situation: Lymph glands generally swell after stimulation and can do so after a general illness, vaccinations, or if limited to one area, some local factors. If they enlarge and gradually shrink back to resting size within 3-4 weeks, they are behaving normally. You have done the initial baseline workup, so I would give it time and recheck if it persists too long.
How can I get my dr to listen to my concerns about more swollen lymph nodes in neck and crease of arm? What tests should I ask for?
