Get exam now: May not just be nodes. If fixed/stuck & painless, then suspicious for mass requiring biopsy. If masses are mobile - if you can roll them around under your skin & are tender, that's relatively reassuring: they're reactive (to infection) and unlikely to be cancer. Get exam now. May be hidradenitis suppurativa or abscess which would require aspiration/drainage, packing, culture & antibiotics.

Probable infection: Tender, swollen red lymph nodes usually indicate an infection. Under the arm may be due to an infected hair follicle. See a doctor to determine if antibiotics might be required.

Stop it: If you suspect that the natural product has caused it, you will need to stop using it. Remember that not everything natural is good for you. For example, poison ivy/oak is likely as organic and natural as it comes (since no one tries to cultivate them or fertilize them with chemicals), yet it sensitizes over 90% of the people having direct contact with it.

I have had reoccurring swollen lymph nodes under both armpits with no other symptoms. Could this be from deodorant? One will go away then come back.

You R right: Avoid stick deodorant. Stop shaving that area. Soap and water to keep area clean. May need a short course of antibiotic. Once cleared. ....preventive measures will help avoid recurrence.

Nodes: Please see your doctor. He/she will ask you a few questions, examine you, and order lab tests. Examining your lymph nodes is critical. Whether or not the doctor (s) will do anything to the nodules is not certain. Hope all goes well - please keep me informed.

Good question: The clue should have been in the lymph node biopsy. We would need to also know about you health status. This is something to discuss with your physician

Abdominal pain in the upper abdomen; diagnosed as stress related. Now have multiple swollen lymph nodes in both armpits. Emergency or wait and see?

Abdominal pain in the upper abdomen; diagnosed as stress related. Now have multiple swollen lymph nodes in both armpits. Emergency or wait and see?

Need a check up: Swollen lymph nodes in the axilla, if defiinitly present require confirmation from a doctor and further testing to find the cause. Normally one should not feel any lymph nodes in the axilla. It could be something serious (? cancer), so do not wait and see. Yet it is not an emergency, but do get an examination done from your primary care physician ASAP (1-2 weeks time is fine).

Been having swollen lymph nodes come up in both armpits for 6 mnths now had mammogram and clear what should I do now still getting them?

Widen the search: You and your healthcare provider need to widen the search for possible enlarged lymph nodes. This often requires looking for various types of inflammatory pathology (problems) like different types of infections and even cancers (though you issues may have nothing to do with cancer). Please make sure you discuss this with your doctor if you haven't otherwise.

I have swollen lymph nodes in both my armpits. No tenderness and the lumps are fatty in nature, not solid. They come and go with gravity. I am also ex?

I have swollen lymph nodes in both my armpits. No tenderness and the lumps are fatty in nature, not solid. They come and go with gravity. I am also ex?

See doctor: First, are they lymph nodes or fatty tissue. If lymph nodes they shouldn't be there and an explanation needs to be found. How are you feeling? Any symptoms? This might give us a clue as would a general exam. You might also need some blood and possibly Xray work up. So I would see your PCP or GP and I'm certain he would sort it out. John Froude MD

I was wondering are swollen lymph nodes in armpits obvious?

If they: Are big enough, yes. Although they can also be high and hard to detect without a cat scan.

What would cause reoccurring swollen lymph nodes under your armpits?

Lymphadenopathy: Studies show that approximately 1.1% of primary care patients presenting with lymphadenopathy have malignancy. The axillary lymph nodes drain the breast, chest wall and upper extremity. Lymphadenopathy that is persistent >3 weeks should be investigated. Most causes of axillary lymphadenopathy are reactive in nature. A full medical history and physical exam should be performed.

Can you get swollen lymph nodes under your armpits from stick deodorant?

Yes: Some people react to deodorant as an irritant and others may be allergic to the contents of the deodorant stick. In either case body may react against the chemicals and that may result in local lymph gland enlargement.

How come I have swollen lymph nodes in left armpit?

How come I have swollen lymph nodes in left armpit?

Monitoring Centers: Lymphatic system absorbs/carries things too big to go into the arteries/veins like bacteria eaten by white cells and digested food. Lymph nodes "taste" the lymph for anything bad like bacteria/viruses/cancers, etc. When it detects a problem, it alerts the immune system and your body reacts. They enlarge in response to the inflammation they create when they react. They shrink when all is well.

I have swollen lymph nodes in my armpit and groin, what could it be?

I have swollen lymph nodes in my armpit and groin, what could it be?

Several things: Swollen nodes can be due to injury or infection. However, since you have swollen nodes at distant sites in the body, namely armpit and groin, this raises the possibility of cancer such as lymphoma. You should not ignore it and should go see your doctor for an assessment.
