Let your doctor guid: Your doctor can guide you further. Nodes are worrisome if they are hard to palpation and are more than one cm in size. So ask your doctor about what he/she thinks these are due to? If they are getting bigger a x-ray/scan or a biopsy may be needed if the doctor suspects that the nodes are diseased.

Should I be concerned about swollen lymph nodes under one armpit? I can't feel them but my doctor did?

Continue following: It is more likely than not that the enlarged lymph node is benign. Unilateral lymph-node enlargement can be caused by a myriad of things that can stimulate the immune system such as animal scratch, a puncture wound in that hand or arm while gardening, a skin irritation on the arm or chest wall on that side. I recommend that you continue to let your doctor follow-up with you as he recommends.

How come I have swollen lymph nodes in left armpit?

How come I have swollen lymph nodes in left armpit?

Monitoring Centers: Lymphatic system absorbs/carries things too big to go into the arteries/veins like bacteria eaten by white cells and digested food. Lymph nodes "taste" the lymph for anything bad like bacteria/viruses/cancers, etc. When it detects a problem, it alerts the immune system and your body reacts. They enlarge in response to the inflammation they create when they react. They shrink when all is well.
