See a doctor.: Persistent lymph node swelling associated with other symptoms can be serious. The peculiar symptoms that occur with drinking could be hodgkin lymphoma. Get checked out: Although the scenario you describe could very well be something benign like mononucleosis or some other viral infection, you could be describing symptoms of malignant lymphoma or hodkins disease. See a physician: Lymphadenitis or swollen lymph nodes is due to viral or bacterial infection. The swollen lymph nodes caused by cancer is not very common condition. I don't think that your case is any different. Rec.: see your pcp for further investigation. ...Read more

Swollen nodes caused by infection or inflammation would be expected to go back to normal whereas those caused by cancer normally keep on growing (there are exceptions even to this, though).
