Nodes: Could be many things including a viral illness such as mono or a bacterial infection. If blood work is normal including Lyme if you have exposure. Suggest you see an ENT for a full evaluation which may include a scan or biopsy ...Read more

Likely benign, but: The neck is a very common place for mild lymph node enlargements. We do about 5-6 lymph node biopsies a day-from the neck-and most of them are benign. However if rapid growth is noted, or if bigger than 3cm, or if other symptoms develop you need to have it checked. The most common cause of enlarged lymph nodes in the neck are a viral illness, a dental infection, skin infection and "other". ...Read more

I keep getting swollen lymph nodes around my neck and ears. I have chronic sinus problems. What type of regimen should I be on?

Need a doctor visit: You would need to see either an allergist or ENT to be evaluated if you have chronic sinusitis and associated conditions. Enlarged cervical lymph nodes might relate to sinusisits. If it persist after sinus diseases are treated, a visit with a hematologist/oncologist might be needed. Rash: It may be the rash on your scalp that is traveling down your neck and to your ears and back is causing swelling of your lymph nodes. Sometimes medical problems can cause moodiness or it may be a separate issue. Be examined by your doctor for a diagnosis and treatment. Tell him/her about your feelings .
