Lump behind ear: Could mean a lot of things. Would first have your doctor check out your ears, nose and throat for possible ear or sinus/throat infection. It might not even be a node. Other considerations are cysts, sterile abscess or lipoma, benign or malignant tumors can also present like this. A doctor should be able to make that distinction by proper physical exam and order further testing as needed. ...Read more

I may: Represent infection in the ear, or the scalp. A painful node is usually an infected node. Some manage by "empiric" antibiotics, but a careful exam for source, possible aspiration for culture may yield results. Stabe nodes can be biopsied or removed but chance of finding lymphoma or cancer as quite improbable. ...Read more

Probable folliculiti: You probably have ingrown hair folllicles causes small pimples---the lymph gland is reactive to the skin and not very surprising. This could be helped with an oral antibiotic. See your pcp to make sure of this. Stop scratching. ...Read more
