I have a swollen and sore gland (lymph node maybe?) on the far right side of my neck. I also just quit smoking after 1 yr of it-- could it be related?
Not likely: Cancers related to smoking usually require more tobacco than you have years. In addition young people often have lymph nodes that swell when exposed to novel viruses or immune challenges.
