Swelling?: Probably swelling if you had trauma or bit your tongue during your sleep. It could also be a mucocele which is a sac full of mucous that may need drainage and/or steroid injection to help prevent recurrence. If it's not painful or severe symptoms ok to give it a couple days to see if resolving. If not, or getting worse, or has been there a while get it checked out this week by your doctor. ...Read more

Ive noticed a lump inside the middle of my tongue , a few taste buds look swollen just above it. its been there around 5 weeks now?

Get medical evaluati: you need to see your doctor or dentist to check you and find out the nature of this nodule. if it is 1 cm or larger then we need to get her checked by a head and Neck(ENT) surgeon for evaluation. Viral infection: The lumps in the back of the tongue may be circumvallate papillae which are taste buds. They may be inflamed. The red spots in the back of your throat may be infected lymph nodes.
