I develop swollen under my lower eyelids! when i blink it hurts and it's very red inside! i don't think it's a sty cuz there is no pimple there!
Internal sty: There are stys that are external (the pimple is easily seen) and those that are internal (the pimple is not visible, as in your case). I suspect this is the case for your condition. Warm compress the area, gentle massage and see ophthalmologist if symptoms are not improving in a day or two. ...Read more
My lower eyelids swollen, a bit red but hurts and a bump inside the eye ,its been 4 days.Any advice ?
Stye: If this occurred rather suddenly, it probably is a stye, which is a blocked oil gland of the eyelid. It can become secondarily infected and can spread to adjacent tissues leading to cellulitis. Most of these styes respond to very warm compresses 3-4 times/day for 10' followed by gentle massage with a washcloth containing a small amount of baby shampoo. After a week, the stye should nearly resolve. ...Read more
What do you suggest if my eye hurts and there is a swollen bump inside my lower eyelid. what is it?
Stye: At your age, this is probably a stye. This is a blocked gland in the substance of the lid which will produce a red swelling on the inside of the lid. If advanced it may swell the whole lid. To treat, use very warm washcloths socked from your water tap (not too hot). for about 5 minutes at a time, 5 times per day for several days . this will usually get rid of it. ...Read more

Chalazion (stye): A distinct nodule with tenderness and redness of the lid is often a stye (chalazion). Warm compresses x 30 minutes 2 x/day often helps. Also, 1/2 cup of rice in a knee high pantyhose that is microwaved for 15 seconds (and testing on the skin to make sure it is not too hot) is useful. Recurrent chalazia or ones that do not respond to heat need to be seen by an ophthalmologist +/- biopsy. ...Read more
My lower eyelid is slightly swollen and itchy. What could be causing this? And what can I do to cure it?
Lower eyelid became irritated Thursday, slightly worse yesterday, now mildly swollen, stinging, mild crusting last night, not very pink. Pinkeye?
Could be: Pink eye in general means that you have a severe virus that causes significant itchiness. Most people however with a crusting, eye redness, lid swelling have an unstable tear film from blepharitis. The last two days my lower eyelid has been swollen. I put a cold compress on it & when I wake up in the morning it's even more swollen. What is this?
Blepharitis: You have something called blepharitis. This is most likely caused by a bacterial infection, though non-infectious causes also exist. Continue doing the warm compresses, and keep the eyelids clean of any crusting. Probably also need to treat with an antibiotic, and thus should see your doctor, especially since this is getting worse. Avoid eye makeup and contacts, if you wear them. ...Read more
