29 y/o female with swollen lower left leg, calf pain, tenderness to touch. Otherwise healthy. Could it be DVT? How do I know when to go to doctor?
See a doctor now!:
Calf tenderness, swelling and pain in one leg can mean infection, inflammation, blocked lymph channels or DVT. You need to see a doctor to examine and get blood tests and ultrasound if needed. If there is a DVT it needs treatment. Use this assessment to find out your risk of developing one.

My left leg is red and has been swollen got about 6 weeks, nothing broken. What could be the problem?
Doctor can examine: A leg that has been swollen and reddened for six weeks is not normal and can have a serious problem. There can be infection in the bone, or some sort of bone cancer or muscle tumor. Autoimmune disorders causing arthritis can affect the arms and legs. Blockages in blood vessels or lymphatic channels can cause swelling and poor circulation in a leg. A doctor can examine such a leg and run tests. ...Read more

Lump on the leg:
Hello and welcome to HealthTap,
Is it mobile? Or attached to over lying skin? What about the color of the overlying skin? It may be a ganglionic cyst or vascular enlargement/ verciose vein, could also be a Lipoma (less likely).

How accurate is a d dimmer test. Had 2 were negative. My left leg is still a little swollen and a little red some pain. What can cause these symptoms?
Pretty good: A ddimer, if negative is very accurate. There are many conditions that cause a positive ddimer, but clots nearly always do. If you are really worried, an ultrasound can tell you if there is a clot or not. Without more history it is difficult to say exactly what is going on. Do you have an autoimmune condition? Infection? What did your doc say about it? Ddimer, not perfect, but very good. ...Read more

Top of Left leg suddenly started aching, no other pains leg is not swollen or hot It's an ache that's hard to ignore?
Can't ignore pain: If it's getting worse, then don't ignore it. It's impossible to guess what it might be without some more information or an exam. Some things that come to mind are: inguinal hernia (often from lifting), strained muscle, deep vein blood clot (can happen after long car/plane ride), infection (should look red or feel hot). Try a heating pad or ibuprofen. If it doesn't improve, go see someone. ...Read more
