Yes and No: The knee has fluid or what is called an effusion under the knee cap. Over time ( 3 months) it will go away.
It is not harmful just cosmetically larger knee.
If you need it removed see an Orthopedic doctor for arthrocentesis. They can insert a needle and drain the fluid. It may return if the area is still healing.

It can: Many times it the distal alignment is bad, u r still stressing the mfpl ; it can stretch ; fail as ur original ligament failed. I am a firm believer in acute repair and distal realignment done ; the same time. Meniscal injury: Honestly, it sounds a whole lot like the symptoms that are commonly reported with meniscal tears or strains. It seems you already have experience with previous meniscal tear- does this feel familiar? Did you specifically injure it or did it just start hurting out of the blue?You need your doc to examine the knee and perform some tests and maybe an MRI before formulating a treatment plan. ...Read more

Ofloxacin? SE: This very easily could be a side effect of the antibiotic you mention. There are some reports that ligaments and tendons can be too loose while taking this medication. But, that is all I have without examining your knee. ...Read more

Effusion: You're describing a knee "effusion" or collection of fluid surrounding the knee joint. Effusions are the body's response to injury. Since you have no pain, the injury is probably minor. Best to rest it, elevate it and apply ice a few times a day for about 3 days. Once the swelling goes down, you can resume normal activities, but do so gradually. OTC Ibuprofen might help also.
