Sounds like teething

If your daughter is not allergic to either Advil or Tylenol, you can give her the appropriate dose to manage her fever and pain. It sounds like teething pain but I would have her see a dentist about the swollen gums to rule out other possible pathologies as soon as possible.

Sores take time

Any disruption in the gums or canker sores will generally take around 10 days to run their course. Menthol gum, medicated losenges can give temporary relief.

Canker Sores

The cause of canker sores is not clear. It is most likely due to your body's own defenses following an attack or injury. They go away by themselves. Most medications treat the discomfort of the sore, not the actual sore. An antibiotic will only treat a bacterial attack.

Canker sores?

Maybe they were not canker sores at all, but mouth lesions of the infecting virus. Strep doesn't cause gingivitis or canker sores. This sounds more like herpangina or herpes virus. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmedhealth/PMH0001964/

URI

Upper respiratory tract infections, whether due to viruses or bacteria, may trigger migraine headaches in a susceptible person. Swollen gums, if due to gingivitis, will probably need treatment with antibiotics, but to determine this accurately will require a visit to your doctor and a good examination.

Probably not allergy

This sounds very much like a viral infection. Herpangina, herpetic stomatitis, and hand-foot-and mouth disease all have similar symptoms. All will heal on their own in 7-10 days. See your dentist or ENT specialist for a definitive diagnosis and treatment of the symptoms.
