If I have been pushing because of difficult bowel movements a few times a day could it cause left side groin/pelvic pain and is this likely.

If I have been pushing because of difficult bowel movements a few times a day could it cause left side groin/pelvic pain and is this likely.

Yes it can happen: Groin pain while pushing for BM can be from few reasons. Inguinal (Groin) hernia can cause pain with pushing. Also a sprain of inguinal muscle can cause the same. Keep your stools soft by eating a lot of fibers or take something like over the counter fibers. The sprain pain will go away in few days. For persistent pain or if worse with vomiting, fever then see your MD right away. ...Read more

I'm having really bad pelvic pain my doctor ordered a xray of my pelvis not ultrasound will this show what is causing the pain?

I'm having really bad pelvic pain my doctor ordered a xray of my pelvis not ultrasound will this show what is causing the pain?

Maybe, but...: Xray is not very good at imaging the internal organs of the pelvis. It is better for looking at bony problems (the hip bones for example), so maybe your dr suspects a bony cause of the pain. Xray isn't great for looking at the uterus, bladder, ovaries, intestines. Keep in mind - that some causes of pain cannot be found on any imaging modalities (endometriosis, for example). ...Read more

I assume he ruled: Out bowel problems, you could have endometriosis or adhesions or other problems that would not necessarily show up on those tests you need to see your gyn as you may need a laparoscpy or robot, and it depends how big and what kind of cyst they found, either way see your gyn asap. ...Read more
