No Sudaphed: Afrin will help with nasal congestion, & when used correctly has little systemic effect. The drug alone can only be taken short time or stops working. I suggest U ask physician for prescription of Fluticosone Propionate which sprayed in nostrils & breathed in once daily can help U to take the meds longer. Reasonable to test for flu & take tamiflu if positive. Tylenol (acetaminophen) or ASA for other symptoms ...Read more

Have had headache x5days dizziness nause swollen glands that are painful?

Heart palpitations, sinus problems, extreme fatigue, dizziness, swollen glands. Swollen glands subsided after a week on antibiotics. What could it be?

See a doctor: These symptoms, taken as a whole, strongly suggest a need for a professional evaluation and establishment of a diagnosis. Strep throat can certainly do some of this, or the lymph nodes receding had nothing to do with the antibiotics. Too many variables here. See your family doctor and best wishes. ...Read more

I don't have enlarged/swollen lymph nodes, but have a really bad case of pruritus and dizzy spells, but my CBC came back normal. Should I be worried?

Yes: The dizzy spells, unless related to orthostatic hypotension or a heart rhythm problem, need evaluation by a neurologist. The itching requires a chemical profile and if normal, a dermatology consult in all likelihood. The CBC being normal does not prove the absence of significant disease. Stay proactive and get seen. ...Read more

I have 2 hard swollen lymph nodes on r. side of back of neck at hairline. Hurts terribly to bend neck forward. Headache and dizzy all day. No fever.

See doctor: It is hard to tell what you may have based on the description. For example, I am not sure the lymph nodes you described are indeed lymph nodes instead of bumps. If they start to blister, it may well be the early stage of shingles. Since you are having headache and getting dizzy, it is time to see your doctor or go to the ER. ...Read more
