Needs evaluation: Anytime there is asymmetric tonsillar hypertrophy this should be evaluated by an otolaryngologist. Most likely this is a normal variant, however may indicate a neoplasm within the tonsil. ...Read more

I haave had a swollen gland on the left side of my throat for over a month. No swore throat. Doesnt hurt.

Time to see ENT: I would recommend a complete head and neck exam by an ent. Sometimes people start to feel lumps that were always there, so compare to the other side of your neck. If the lump is there and painless, we need to rule out a tumor. A good exam and sometimes a needle aspiration biopsy are necessary. You're at increased risk if you were ever a smoker.
