R/O biceps: If u were lifting something rather heavy and felt pull or 'pop' and pain and bruising is felt in lower arm or front of elbow( antecubital fossa) then a biceps strain or rupture should be ruled out.@ age 54 this can happen and generally needs to be re-attached or u will lose elbow flexion strength and much supinating( palming up) power. Tennis elbow?: Might be inflammation at the origin site of the extensor tendons on the lateral epicondyle of the elbow. Ultrasound and xray would be normal; an MRI would likely show some edema/swelling there in the form of increased t2 signal, but this expensive test may not be necessary. You may have a : dislocation or worse depending if what popped meant it popped out of your joint, or ? If you've already called your doctor, and not heard back, you may need to ice the area until you can go to an urgent care or ER for further work up, X-rays and medical care.
