My 9 yo daughter has swollen finger joints in one hand and has elevated aso levels, could this be from scarlet fever 4 yrs ago?

My 9 yo daughter has swollen finger joints in one hand and has elevated aso levels, could this be from scarlet fever 4 yrs ago?

Maybe: Elevated aso levels indicate a past strep infection....Just not exactly when. It is important to have her evaluated to see if it is something acute or if it could be related to strep. Swollen finger after catching football awkwardly. Two months ago. Swelling improved over 1st month but finger still sore. Does it take weeks/months?

Fracture healing: If you broke the finger, it could definitely still be sore. Bones take 6 weeks to heal, typically. If it wasn't splinted all that time, it will take longer. If it was a soft-tissue injury, like a ligament/tendon injury, that could be tender for several weeks as well. It would be a good idea to see a doctor if you are having trouble with your range of motion. Good luck. ...Read more
