An ANA test screens for connective tissue diseases (lupus) and a negative test does not exclude diseases like RA which have different antibody tests. Maybe: Elevated aso levels indicate a past strep infection....Just not exactly when. It is important to have her evaluated to see if it is something acute or if it could be related to strep.In the cases I have seen of rheumatic problems after strep the patients did not remember having a strep infection. Thyroid "normal": As you obviously know all your symptoms fit into hypothyroidism. What you may not know is that the so called normal range thyroid levels is rather broad.
