Swollen Eyelid Stye
Random event: Styes are caused by a blockage of a gland in the lid which gets infected. This is not from any thing that you did or did not do. They occur in people from all walks of life. At this stage, the best treatment is frequent application of very warm (not hot) washrags placed on the inflamed lid for 4 minutes at a time about 4-6 times per day. ...Read more

Upper eyelid got swollen. When I lifted up the eyelid below the eyelid there is a pop. It is not a stye and don't know what it is. Little pain is there?
Go to eye doc: Without seeing it, there is no way to know, but swollen eyelid and pain is not a good combination. See an ophthalmologist right away. Good luck and feel better. ...Read more
I have what I think is a stye, no lump under my eyelid but in between layers of d eyelid. My eyelid is swollen and puffy now. What can I do?
I have had a stye in my upper eyelid for 10 days. It appears more swollen than originally, it is rounder, lower on lid and looks puss filled. Normal?
No it is not normal. It would probably be best to call your doctor. With that in mind I would not be surprised if you were referred to an eye doctor.
Sounds crazy but at age 6 I broke 5 pair of glasses - Dad was not happy! Since then I can't live without spectacles.

My upper eyelid has been swollen for five days now. I think its a stye but I can't see a small pimple or anything. I've cleaned it, but its still here?
Possible concern: Eye lid swelling can come from coming into contact with something that is an irritant or from a stye as you suggested but it can be more concerning than this. I would have expected that after five days something "more" would be present and more obvious - like a discoloration, etc. I would actually have your medical provider evaluate it. You could attempt to apply some cold compresses until seen. ...Read more
I have what I believe to be a stye on my upper eyelid. I first noticed it last night around 9:00. It's a little red and swollen, but I cannot see a pi?
Heat treatment: Use a warm wet washcloth held under the very hot but not scalding tap in your kitchen. Put it over the lid on the affected side (really both lids as yours eyes should be shut) and do this about 5 times per day and 5 minutes each time. This almost always will eliminate a stye. Antibiotics and things at drug stores like "Stye ointment" will have no effect. ...Read more
Maybe..: A common reason for a focal area of swelling and tenderness on the eyelid is acne-like clogging of glands on the lid, causing a stye or a chalazion. You could also have a local allergic reaction (dermatitis) to something that got on your skin. If the swelling is on the inner part of your lower lid between your lid and your nose, you may have a more serious infection (dacryocystitis). ...Read more
I squeezed a stye I have had in my eye for awhile and this morning I woke up with my bottom eyelid very swollen should I be worried?
Treatment of stye: A stye is usually a self-limited localized infection in the eyelid. Squeezing it probably caused the infection to spread to a larger area but usually still not serious. The treatment involves warm compresses regularly and oral antibiotics if the infection is significant. Also, sometimes there is a persistent lump left when the infection is gone. This occasionally needs to be removed. ...Read more
My bottom eyelid is sore when I blink. & every night I go to sleep in wake up my bottom eyelid is a little swollen. Please help me. Is it a stye?!?
Likely: This is most likely a stye in its early stages. You can try to apply very warm (not hot) wet washcloths over the closed lid for 4 minutes at a time; 5 times per day. This will get rid of most styes of this type. If the symptoms persist after 5 days of this treatment, then see your ophthalmologist. ...Read more
Have red swollen eyelid for 4 days I get yellow discharge from it every morning but don't have a yellow spot on it and don't know if it's a stye?
It is infection: You have infection in your eye which will need an antibiotic. You should see your doctor (primary care) or see an eye specilaist whomsoever can see you today or tomorrow. A Red eye will not go away itself without antibiotics. A stye is not associated with yellow discharge, this is more like infection in the eye (Conjunctivitis. ...Read more

The stye on the inside of my lower eyelid just popped itself, should I be worried? It's still swollen. Should I get eye drops or just leave it?
Drainage is good: Lucky for you that your stye spontaneously popped and drained. You can accelerate the rest of the healing with frequent application of warm (not hot) soaks. Antibiotics are of no help. You can use lubricating eye drops to help keep the area clear and clean. ...Read more
My son's lower eyelid is swollen. His doctor says it's a stye, but after 2 days of antibiotic it looks worse. Its painful to look down. Any ideas?
This may be a bit more "spread" than a stye (which is a lid infection (blepharitis) which has "come to a head"' MY TIP IS USE AN EYE CUP and using warm water SOAK the entire Eye. This will tend to bring the lid infection "to a head/stye)
N.B. Continue the antibiotic!!!!
Hope this helps

Stye on my eye my eyelid is slightly swollen also the white of my eye is red/ irritated is that normal? I've been using hot compresses to help
Common symptoms: You are doing the right thing by using warm compresses. Most tend to apply them too infrequently - apply very warm compresses over the involved eye for 4 minutes at a time 5-6 times a day. This will usually melt it away in several days. As long as the vision is normal, this should work. Using compresses 1-2 times per day will not usually work. ...Read more

Pink swollen eyelid, sore throat/cold. Dr said stye, but there is no bump at all! Just an overall swelling/pain. Incorrect diagnosis perhaps?
Probably right: Most styes start out with diffuse swelling of a part or sometimes the whole lid. As your body starts to deal with it, it becomes localized to the more typical focal redness and swelling. I hope you were told to apply heat 4-5 times per day which is in face the best treatment. ...Read more
