I had a TMJ arthroscopy 3 weeks ago and my eardrum is sore. I also think my eardrum is swollen. Is this normal?
Unlikely your ear: While only a doctor that evaluates you can be sure, i would bet your ear is just fine. People with tmj, *especially* if they just had a procedure on the joint, are prone to a sensation of pain in the ear. The muscles that insert into the jaw joint have some shared nerves with the ear and you get a referred pain. Treating TMJ pain will likely treat your ear pain. It depends...: Lymph nodes in the neck can be enlarged due to infection, inflammation or due to cancer. If your node is hard to touch and painless, that makes it suspicious for Cancer but only if their size is more than 1 or 2Cm. TMJ????: Obviously i cannot say without seeing you. However, there is a "disk" at your temporomandibular joint that can slip or lock, and cause symptoms like this. See your dentist. I think I may have eardrum perforation, buzzing in ear, sometimes a whistle followed by sharp pain. ear feels conjested and swollen, yellow discharge.

Comgestion: It seems you have seen your primary doctor initially for suggestions . There are other nasal steroids that might help besides nasonex, but sometimes combinations of rx like nasal decongestant sprays, oral decongestants, nasal steroids, mucolytics like guaifenesin, ; oral steroids are necessary to alleviate sinus and eustachian tube congestion. Lymphadenopathy: It would not be unreasonable for this boy to have swollen lymph nodes on the side of an injury, abrasion, or other inflammation.
