Swollen Dark Vein On Tonsil
Coughing up mucus with traces of blood. Swollen tonsils and throat. Is the blood likely just due to coughing breaking the blood vessels in throat?
Yes: Excessive pressure from coughing can break capillaries and cause small amount of blood to appear in the mucus. Take a probiotic (Megafood Megaflora Plus brand), zinc 50 mg/day (NOW is a good brand), Vitamin D3 10, 000 IU/day (NOW brand) or sunshine for 30-45 minutes at noon daily to get over the the infection faster. I had a dental deep cleaning in the right side of my mouth and now that side its swollen and I can't open my mouth normal dic said touched a vein maybe?
What happened?: My sense is that you probably had an injection for the deep cleaning, the injection for the lower teeth sometimes causes the muscle to spasm resulting in the difficulty in opening. Another possibility is that there was some internal bleeding due to the needle puncturing a blood vessel. This can cause a hematoma which would produce the same effect. Extended visit opening wide can affect jaw joints. ...Read more

My right tonsil is swollen no white spots but it looks like a bigger tonsil behind it dark colour neck glands/ear painful can't swallow without pain?
Seek medical care: This may be an infection such as a peritonsilar abscess. I have this one dark vein in back of throat. Also it looks like I have red/white craters on my tonsils, and also I see excessive saliva, and sometimes it feels like I have food stuck in throat but when I swallow it won’t go away?
Otolaryngologist: Have a thorough examination by an Otolaryngologist. The specks are probably tonsillar stones which are old food and other debris. They are usually insignificant. Anxiety can cause a sensation of a lump in the throat. I doubt that the vein is pathological. For peace of mind an examination by a throat specialist will be helpful. ...Read more

I have an extremely sore throat on one side. Right tonsil is very swollen with potruding dark red pimple like spot. This came out of nowhere.
Throat infection: The symptoms that you have described sound like your tonsil could be infected. Although an infection could be caused by a virus, it may be due to a bacterial infection. You should see a doctor and have your throat tested for Strep. A doctor can also determine if there is an abscess in your tonsil. Antibiotics and possible drainage of an abscess would be warranted in that case. ...Read more

My fiance hurt his wrist at work looks like a vein xploded swollen large dark blue spot on wrist should we be concerned about the bleeding under skin?
Treat symptomaticly: Injuries to the soft tissues of the body below the skin cause swelling and can also cause the veins in the skin below the injury to bleed. This is what causes the area to become black and blue. Over about a week the body reabsorbs the blood, the swelling subsides and the area heals. The initial treatment is ice to the injured area, elevation and compression usually with an ace wrap. ...Read more

Can you get flesh eating disease in the mouth? The bottom of my tongue hurts on one side and I see dark veins
Here is. ..: The odd to develop infection in the tongue as flesh-eating disease, that is, necrotizing fasciitis or NF, is very unlikely since it is highly vascular, at least, I have never heard it in my 47-yr study in medicine.
