Good question: Not sure what you mean exactly. If the tooth is infected causing an abscess and a swollen cheek extracting the tooth or a root canal should fix it. Geting a tooth worked on that is abscessed and when you are swollen can be painful because all the nerves are hypersensitive and its hard to open your mouth. Check it out: If you've had any type of facial pain on one side with swelling you should consult your dds for problems involving your wisdom tooth if one is present in the area or under the skin in the area. Could be: If you press up , under your cheekbone and it hurts, then yes it could be your sinuses hurting. You can also put a finger in your mouth on the cheek side up by your upper teeth and press up. That is your sinus there and if it hurts when you press up, you most likely have sinus issues going on.
