Carpal Tunnel?: This sounds like carpal tunnel syndrome which is a pinched nerve in the wrist that can cause numbness, tingling, pain and burning in the fingers. Try using a wrist brace when you sleep, this keeps the wrist straight and takes the pressure off the nerve. If this does not improve i would see a hand surgeon for a full evaluation. ...Read more

Chemical burn: Chemical burn from chlorine should be treated according to the severity. Rinse the area with tap running water for 15-20 minutes. See a doctor: I don't see the pictures, but it sounds like a bad infection, based on 1. swelling, 2. he woke up, 3. burning, and 4. pain is worse. Probably he will need antibiotics treatment. Other possibilty would be a burn, or sunburn. Also something like poison ivy or poison oak ., a bee sting is a possibility. But since it is getting worse, with symptoms, he will need a doctor. ...Read more
