Nutritional (iron/B vitamins/folic acid) deficiencies are thought to be causes, as is allergy (contact with something irritating), & infection (yeast, staph, strep). Possible Abscess: The tender tooth needs to be evaluated. There's a very strong possibility there is an abscess, either from a necrotic nerve or periodontal issues. If so, it is serious. Maybe: This used to happen to me in the summers from going barefoot in the country. The sexually transmitted disease of concern would be lymphogranuloma venereum -- which is quite uncommon. Glad the labs were unremarkable. This isn't usually a sign of pathology in your internal pelvic organs, but the ultrasound isn't unreasonable. This might be something just to watch. Your doctor whould h: I am wondering why you did not find help from your doctor. If your lymph nodes are not increasing in size, then they ar elikely to be benign. In that case you do not need to worry about them. If they increase in size, then you need to do something about them...Like a biopsy but they have to be larger than 2cm(>one inch) before i would be concerned about them. ...Read more

Mumps?: Vaccines up to date? Any exposure to mumps that you are aware of? The area you are describing is the location of your parotid glands, and mumps is one of the things that can inflame them bilaterally. Any recent dental or ear problems?
