Should be OK: I checked the manufacturers website for active ingredients. Bio zinc has zinc, magnesium, manganese, vit a, & vit b6. Hair, skin, nails has silica, vit c, horsetail extract (?), folic acid, vit b5, iron, biotin, betacarotene, & also has zinc & manganese, but in amnts that would be safe combined with the other supplement. Supplements are drugs and may interfere with other meds--be sure to check. ...Read more
Is it ok to take a few different collagen supplements along with a tradition hair, skin and nails. Or is it too much?
It may be ok: I'm not sure that oral collagen supplements will do anything and topical collagen is not absorbed. No one is injecting collagen any more, as it has fallen out of favor. Biotin is a good supplement for hair and nail health- 2.5mg daily (what you don't use you pee out). Your pcp should be able to assist with supplements or a personal trainer/nutritionist. ...Read more
Which supplement would be better natures bounty hair skin and nails or twinlab hair factors to cure dry damaged brittle chemically relaxed hair?
Tincture of time: You can try either of the products you mentioned, but in general, once hair shafts are damaged they will stay damaged until you grow your hair out. So stop applying chemicals, or at very least use something less harsh, and be very gentle with it (minimize brushing, blow drying, etc.) until new, healthy hair shafts can grow in. ...Read more
On hair, skin and nails vitamins with 3000 mcg of biotin for at least 4 years now.@1daily for 2 months and then a break. Can I go up to 5000 mcgbiotin?
Yes, totally safe:
Biotin is extremely safe, in fact there is absolutely no known toxicity from any amount of biotin. 5000 mcg may sound like a lot, but it's the same as 5 mg, which may not sound like much.
Whether it helps you is another question; it will help if you are deficient but deficiency is uncommon. Advise continuing the Skin, Hair and Nails vitamin too.
