I hit window glass and hurt my forehead and nose.Nose bled (5-6 drops)there is bit swelling on nose & some pain. What symptoms should I watch out for?
Broken nose: which could cause breathing difficulties or not (depending on whether it is displaced). Apply warm compresses to painful areas and sleep with your head up on pillows. If you have difficulty breathing or are unsatisfied with whatever swelling or change in appearance is there after several days, see a doctor, typically an otolaryngologist for revision. ...Read more

Been having dry, itch eyes. Now have sore lower lid in corner. Also have swelling in nose close to top. No other symptoms beside post nasal drip.
Allergy?: I guess the sequence of events would be that you do have hay fever and by scratching or rubbing the itchy eyes you have introduced an infection to the lower lids. If I were correct, then you need to see your doctor and get this taken care of. Usually a nasal steroid would work but the eye infection requires a Rx antibiotic drop. ...Read more

C-1 inh is <40% of the expected norm but C4 level normal, wats this mean?Does this mean hav hereditary angioedema?Hx of swelling tongue, nose, lips, vomit
Can't rule out: A normal C4 would be unusual for hae. You don't mention whether c1 inh level was functional activity or level of protein. Functional (activity) complement tests are extremely dependent on the way the specimen is handled. Both tests should probably be repeated. To sort things out, you should see a board-certified allergist immunologist. ...Read more
28 yr old f. I hav diclofenac allergy frm childhood (eye swelling, runny nose&heavy sneezing wen i take dis).Wich all medicines i shud avoid in future?
Possibly: If you are having problems with excessive crusting, you should address this rather than constantly picking the nose. I recommend something called ponaris oil. It is hard to find but very effective. In my practice, I have seen cases where the person has picked a hole through the septum, so be careful. ...Read more

Post nasal drip/facial swelling around the nose/mild cheek swelling. No other symptoms. Any clue?
Drainage and swellin: Your symptoms are most likely allergy related with 'allergic shiner' facies. However, facial swelling is unusual with allergies, unless severe (or angioedema). If the cheek swelling is on one side only then I'm even more concerned about sinusitis or something 'weird' in your nose or sinuses. I recommend an ENT exam (by ENT) just to be safe. ...Read more

My 5yo fell & bit her lip (hardwood flr). After sitting at table, I noticed swelling on her nose. Pain on touch. When do I decide it needs doc eval?
Screen her function: You can do some basic screening to decide on an eval. If your kid can breath easily thru both nostrils(gently compress sides) its likely ok.If not, a blood clot can be forming in the middle bone/cartlidge of the nose or the root bone may be deviated & a simple repositioning within a day or so prevents future pbs. Call your regular doc & describe what you find. ...Read more
Hi doctor. I had an unprotected sex 22 days ago. I tested HIV negative on days 13&17.
I had a lymph nose swelling since day 10 till now am worried....
4-6 weeks: With a 4th generation (antigen-antibody) HIV test, the results are conclusive any time 4 weeks or more after exposure. For standalone antibody tests, it's 6 weeks. (Some say 3 months, but that's old news, with older tests.) At 22 days, probably you weren't infected. A single inflamed node is never due to HIV, but syphilis or herpes could do it. See a doctor. Have only more HIV test. ...Read more

If standing stops it: then what you have is a buildup of mucus in the nose and it is fine when it drains.
