Hit the center of proximal phalanx on my right pointer finger. Swollen knot, bruising & painful bending. Bruised or would raised knot mean fracture?
Fractures can swell: either locally or diffusely. A knot may mean there is a very bad bruise to skin or it could mean a fracture. A fracture in the finger can be nondislplaced meaning everyting moves well and is lined up so one does not necessarily have a great deformity, joint fractures or fractures in the plane of motion with swelling may not loo obvious except for pain and swelling. Possible diagnoses: If the main problem is joint pain with activity and the joints are larger and feel bony, osteoarthritis is a possibility. If there is a soft squishy joint swelling and morning stiffness, rheumatoid arthritis would be possible. In RA several joints are affected and usually both hands. Another possible diagnosis is simple tendinitis, usually from overuse. See your primary doctor first. ...Read more
More information: Would need more information. Was there an injury? If so then you may have dramas ged bone or soft tissue structures in the finger. If no injury, then arthritic, inflammatory, and even infectious causes are possible. I would not hesitate to be seen for an accurate diagnosis. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
Right knee feels swollen, but it doesn't look swollen, pain around and below knee cap near shin, sometimes it sort of stuck( locking pain)?
Twisted arm doing backhandspring, popped, fingers tingle, hard to close them, sharp elbow pain behind & on top of elbow, no swelling or bruising..?
Left hand middle finger tight with stiffness. Can't bend it. Swollen @ the joint & palm. No pain, just uncomfortable.
No injury?: Assuming you haven't injured that finger somehow (sometimes it is hard to remember...might have seemed like nothing at the time)... I'm thinking things that aren't exactly "serious", but that doesn't mean it doesn't hurt! Possibly tendinitis in that finger, or a bit of arthritis in the joint. Try using an ice pack, and reducing movement, maybe w/ a splint. If it continues, I would get an x-ray. ...Read more
Got a bite on hip flexor area purple discoloration extending proximal local inflamed red bite tingling in toes?
Get it checked: Purple discoloration is most likely a bruise (hemolyzed blood from the venom/bite). Whether it is of concern or not, only a doctor can tell. If it is extending, it means the injury is continuing. Tingling in the toes may be a sign of the nerve being affected, so better get it checked. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Swelling is fluid: This is a simplistic answer but .....Usually blood ( bruising) or cellular fluid ( from cell damage) or fluid from within the blood ( vessels stimulated to leak inflammatory fluids) ice, move your fingers, male a fist and extend fully even if it is tight, elevate just a little higher than your heart location ( chaness as you change position). ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Forearm pain w/ swelling bruising & tender spots near the ulna, makes popping sound when arm is moved sometimes & lightheaded sometimes, can move it?
Doctor can evaluate: There are enough arm symptoms present, so one should see a primary care doctor or an orthopedic doctor to examine the arm.
