Swelling: Can't see your other question...system doesn't work that way. As a general rule, any pain, swelling, or bleeding should be immediately investigated. Could be lymph nodes swollen from trying to filter an infection, or partially blocked salivary gland, or draining abscess, or so many other things. May be blocked duct: Salivary ducts (tubes) bring saliva from the salivary glands to the mouth. If a person has a salivary stone or some other problem that blocks a duct, then her saliva gland will swell up each time she makes saliva, such as when eating. An ENT doctor can evaluate. Meanwhile, a salivary stone might get pushed out of the duct by increasing the flow of saliva, such as by sucking on hard candies. ...Read more

Is it the ear?: Palpate the swelling and open and close your mouth. If it is the jaw joint you will feel it move when you open and close. Sometimes the TMJ can give ear symptoms like fullness. I would have an ENT check it out first to be sure there are no medical problems. If not, then check with a dentist who conservatively treat TMJ issues to see if that is a possible cause. ...Read more

Likely it's a benign: Lymph node condition.If it's persistent ask ur dr if he would consider doing a biopsy. Do u answer a lot of phone calls? It may be contributing to d ringing. Glands under jaw are swollen and hurt to touch. Dont have cold/ flu & went to ER to get checked out. Gave me naproxen for swelling but its worse now.
