I have had a pain in both legs but mostly in my leg leg it hurts to touch it it hurts when anything hit it or touches it no swelling or tingling feet?

Neuropathy: Unless you have had this condition for a long time, the condition is probably not genetic. A neuropathy can occur without tingling, especially early in its course. Nerve conduction studies can confirm or exclude that possibility. Arterial disease can also cause similar symptoms but there would likely be pallor & coldness of the limb. Why at night especially do my shins & calfs get sharp shooting pains, also fron the knee down on both legs swell up. Especially my feet & ankles & stay that way for days?

Two problems: You have swelling, and shooting pains to the lower legs. I would make sure you are not pregnant, don't have varicose veins, are not flat footed (if so wear arch supports), if on any medications - check side effects, type of shoes you've been wearing? The shooting is usually nerve related but the swelling can be causing pressure on the nerves. If persists see a oc. ...Read more

8mo baby, slight heart murmur, just noticed swelling in both legs below knee. Legs feel hard. Baby seems fine. What might cause this? Dangerous?

Medical exam needed: Many infants have mild heart murmurs that are of no concern. However, the firm swelling you describe is concerning. It's not likely related to the heart murmur, since heart failure in infants doesn't usually cause leg swelling, but rather poor feeding, lethargy and breathing trouble. But leg swelling should be evaluated as soon as possible. ...Read more

Could it be a possible blood clot if severe, painful swelling in BOTH legs and ankles? Or would a blood clot only cause swelling of the affected limb?

Blood clot maybe?: Can it be a blot clot? The answer is almost always yes. The reason? Because we don't want to miss that in a diagnosis. A blood clot affects one limb but there is nonrulenthatbsays you can not have 2 or a clot (obstruction) in a vessel that feeds or drains both limbs.
