Parotid gland: The swellings are most likely swelling of the parotid glands, as that is the only gland-like structure in front of the ear that could be related to eating. I do not think this is any thing serious, but would certainly recommend a head and neck surgeon for diagnosis and possible treatment. ...Read more

Examination: Schedule an appointment with a family physician and have it evaluated. It's almost impossible to adequately examine your own pharynx. I'm sure they will examine your ears, too. This is the only way to come up with a good diagnosis. ...Read more
