Many possibilities: First of all, is there is any history of trauma to the limb? If so condition such as Complex regional pain syndrome should be considered. Other things that can cause swelling of a limb include a deep venous thrombus, lymphedema, Congestive heart failure although this last one would cause swelling in legs. Best advice is to have a doc get a good history and exam to determine what is the problem. ...Read more
