Swelling Ankles Joint Pain Elevated Esr
I have a ANA positive result and elevated ESR 7 months ago along with joint pain/swelling that gradually gets worse, fatigue, cognitive issues. Normal CRP and CCP. No other reccomendations from Rheumatologist.?
More tests: Joint swelling and an elevated ESR indicate that you have joint inflammation, not just joint pain. This makes it suspicious for seronegative RA (rheumatoid arthritis with negative RF, negative CCP) or a disease in the lupus family. The ANA is not as helpful as you might think as it is positive in many conditions. However, you need DNA, ENA, complement testing now for diagnosis. You also need Rx. ...Read more

Have bad joint pain and weakness, very fatigued. No fever, no swelling, just a little inflamation in ankle. Some twitching by knees. What could it be?
Its hard to know: I see that you have fibromyalgia (FMS). Bad joint pain and fatigue are commonly seen in FMS. Knee twitching is unusual. I suspect it is related to poor sleep and muscle spasm, or possibly anxiety. If not done recently, checking basic electrolytes (calcium, magnesium, sodium) and thyroid function is reasonable. Make sure you see someone that is skilled in treating your FMS symptoms. ...Read more
