Swelling Above Breast
Swelling is the enlargement of organs, skin, or other body parts. It is caused by a buildup of fluid in the tissues. The extra fluid can lead to a rapid increase in weight over a short period of time (days to weeks). Swelling can occur all over the body (generalized) or only in one part ...Read more
Breast swelling: Any painful swelling in a breast should be examined by a physician and if a lump is felt that he/she would order studies to evaluate it like an ultrasound and mammogram. You might be suffering from fibrocystic changes - usually a sign of estrogen dominance. I recommend you make an appointment with your gyn doctor as soon as possible.
There seems to be localized swelling on my chest below by breast. It is only visible when I'm standing. There is no pain. What could this be?
Lipoma?: Interesting location, could be a lipoma. I doubt anything serious. If it gets bigger let's have you be seen to be sure it's nothing dangerous.
After taking postinor, a few days now there's slight bleeding (dark sticky matter?), slight swelling and sensitivity of the breasts. Is this normal?
Yes: It's very normal to have these symptoms after taking emergency contraception. It doesn't mean anything about whether it worked or not. So be sure to take a home urine pregnancy test 14 days after. Irregular bleeding may last up to 2 months after taking. Be sure to consider a more reliable form of contraception to avoid future pregnancy scares.
Had small amount of skin removed from breasts after reconstruction and the swelling down. Have sutures and durmabond. How long do I wait to lift weights?
Post Operative Care: It would be advisable to communicate with your surgeon before engaging in strenuous activities. Your surgeon has the most complete knowledge about the details of your operation and is the best person to advise you on any aspects of post-operative care.See 1 more doctor answer
No: Tell the doctor. Don't let the coach know you're injured until you know the severity because it might result in less playing time.
Doctor Visit: Need to have an exam of the breast. Most likely need Mammogram as well.

My breasts have started swelling recently & now my vagina is starting to swell. It hurts & itches at the same time. What is wrong?
Maybe you need to: Check for pregnancy. If first test negative, then check again in 1 week. It is always good to assume that you may be pregnant, since breast tenderness is one of the first signs of pregnancy. Make sure you do not have a lump in your breast that is sore. The new findings regarding vaginal swelling may indicate some infection, so get it checked by healthcare provider.
I have reddish skin on both my breasts no heat no swelling no pain and no node swelling just the patches I am 30 with very large breasts?
Redish skin obreast.: If it is under your breast and the breasts are large, it could be intertrigo, a fungal infection due to moisture under the breasts. Show it to your doctor to get the cream prescribed for it.
Male breast tissue: About 1/2 males will undergo a transient nipple/breast enlargement at he onset of puberty. Carrying extra weigh aggravates the issue as part of the enlargement is fat. Most will resolve slowly as other hormonal changes kick in over about a year. If the process is unchanged after 2-3 yrs & you've made an effort to lose any extra weight, it is time to discuss it with a surgeon. No meds will fix it.
Yes: Some degree of “swelling” is to be expected after any type of breast surgery. However, what is “normal” versus swelling related to a complication can only be determined clinically. This is why careful follow-up with your plastic surgeon will be important after the procedure is performed. Best wishes.See 3 more doctor answers
Diminishes in weeks: The first 7-10 days is the worst, then you'll see improvement as weeks go by...See 2 more doctor answers
Not really.: This would be very unusual. My advice is to be seen by your doctor to figure out what the issue might be.
Depends why: There can be many reasons why there is swelling. Infection? Perhaps antibiotics immune system reaction? Sterioids hormonal problem? Homoral evaluation and assess cause and treatment. Local treatment with cool compresses may temporarily help...If not any infection.
Decreases in stages: Swelling usually occurs during the first 24-48 hours stabilizing after 72 and decreasing thereafter. Therefore improvements will be seen in stages typically notable at 4 days, then 7-10 ds, then 3 wks, then 3 mos and usually stable at 9 mos. This is related to initial periods of inflammation, followed by fibrosis, & scar maturation with tissue creep/expansion and associated with shape/size changes.See 6 more doctor answers
Breast Reduction: The major swelling secondary to brest reduction surgery usually settles within the first month but the breasts continue to settle as the scars settle over the next 5-6 months. If patients have had liposuction of the axillary area along with the breast surgery then further adjustment occurs within the first 3 months.See 3 more doctor answers
