Sweating After Eating Sweets
Gustatory sweating: Food-related sweating is called gustatory sweating or frey's syndrome. Sometimes it is due to a problem with the parotid glands, which are the salivary glands in front of your ears; but it can also be due to other medical conditions (such as diabetes) or it can occur for no known reason. See your doctor and make sure you don't have an underlying medical problem. ...Read more

Nauseas, sweating and heart racing at 112 BPM immediately after eating a cookie and a little bit of coffee this am. Was fine before. What happened?
My husband has experienced the following: severe nausea, sweating and then weakness. He is 75 years old. After eating something it went away. He did eat breakfast and this was in the early afternoon.
If: If after eating something these symptoms went away, the diagnosis could be hypoglycemia (low blood sugar). Some elderly individuals can develop what is called post prandial hypoglycemia, that is their blood sugar start to fall after few hours of having a meal to the point that they start to have symptoms. This can be confirmed by a 5 hour or 6 hour glucose tolerance test. If this diagnosis is confirmed, he should be given small frequent meals to prevent symptomatic hypoglycemia. ...Read more

Upper right/center abdobmen sharp pain goes away after eating but wakes me up mid night. Reoccurring MRSA infections on leg & excessive sweating?
You should be seeing a doctor asap. Your abdominal pain relieved by food may be peptic ulcer disease (or other), and you should be tested, perhaps with endoscopy.
Recurring MRSA infections can be managed once having determined the extent of disease and ensuring that the sweats are not indicative of systemic infection with MRSA or other. Do not delay in seeing a family doctor or internist. ...Read more

What causes severe chest pain, shoulder pain, neck pain after eating followed by throwing up. Also dizziness, and sweating. Have had this 3 times?
YouGotYourHeartInIt: Glad I saw this. It worries me a little. Of course, any doctor would need to know more but, a lot of other possibilities aside for now, at your age it could be related to your heart. A rather rare form of angina.I'd expect you'd get those symptoms after exertion too but everybody is unique. Best to get the heart issue settled ASAP. I'd also consider what I've been eating and how much. Lighten-up for now. ...Read more

2 months old is very fussy after eating. He passes tons of very smelly gas and sweats a lot while crying/gassy, throws up 1-2/ day. Mylicon doesn't work?
Doctor's exam needed: A 2 month old baby normally does not have bad-smelling poop nor smelly gas. If that is happening, the doctor can examine the baby and look for infectious causes such as viral or bacteria causes. Also, a few babies have trouble digesting what they eat, thus leading to bad-smelling poop and gas. Two months is still very young, so a parent should not wait. ...Read more

this is a not uncommon disorder with sweating - generalized of localized as in your case brought on by eating certain foods - hot and spicy very typical. It is associated with diabetes and is considered a kind of diabetic neuropathy. Since only scalp, Botox injections might be an option. Clonidine might be helpful. Dietary modification an oabvious option.

My 49 yr. Old son starts sweating a sticky sweat within minutes of eating cupcakes or other sweets. Question is Why??? What would cause this?
The "why" is a because your son does not appear to listen to you about the effects of cupcakes and sweets. Regrettably he is unlikely to change.
One possibility would be to urge him to see Psychologist but he might ignore your request.
Is he married, and if so, can his wife "push" him for care?
Please let me know how things go. ...Read more

Reason sweets cravin:
The one I believe in is the Insulin released by the pancreas after eating meal which is usually high in carb, especially complex carbs including white bread, pasta and fruits, soda and juices. The Insulin spikes in and it causes blood sugar to drop and you crave for sweets. To prevent it cut down the carbs in your meal.
The other causes are habit and programmed in brain, sice childhood. ...Read more
What could be causing a electrical sharp pain in just one tooth after eating sweets? It happens a few days a week then goes away and comes back?
Sweet sensitivity: Eating sweets produces acid in the saliva. if there is an unprotected spot on a tooth (either the root surface, where there is a leaky filling, or possibly infiltration of new decay), the saliva penetrates that surface and then, because there is a difference in ions, an electrical reaction occurs that elicits the sharp pain. Your tooth adapts, then rxn repeats ...Read more
I was feeling nauseous after eating something from school and haven't been able to eat sweets in general. Now I'm just randomly nauseous. Why?
CafeWorkerGoneWild: Find out what it was that you ate. Patent the formula and get a government contract to distribute it country-wide, in line with the FDA's recent policy about people eating less sweets. Of course a country full of nauseated people wouldn't look too pretty, would it? So, get some Dramamine (dimenhydrinate) at the drugstore to help your nausea and see how you feel tomorrow. If not better, see the school nurse. ...Read more
