Adoption: This is a value judgement, of course, adoption is a wonderufl thing. A baby who is already born and needing parents finds loving parents to live with. While time consuming and at tmes expensive, adoption is not complicated. There are people like your neighbors who have to save and may actually second mortgage there homes to pay for their treatments. Complex: As with any donated organ or tissue, concern for risk to the donor must be considered. In oocyte donation this does not seem to be well elaborated, perhaps because of the financial compensation that is legal in the us. Broad range: Surrogacy is expensive and ranges from $40k - $100k or more. Price shopping is worthwhile but hard to pinpoint because surrogates all have custom made contracts with intended parents. I believe the key to success is the legal contract, so make sure of attny who helps. Get everything spelled out and make sure it is complete.
