I realize i have a hemorrhoid skin tags near my anal, it itches sometime and it makes me scared. Will it go away on its own without surgery?

Anal skin tags: The anal skin tags will not go away without surgery but the symptoms of itching can be controlled. Most anal itching is the result of soilage collecting around the anal tags which makes patient's feel like they aren't clean and results in excess wiping. I typically recommend my patients to keep flushable wipes in their purse as they clean around the tags more thoroughly with less irritation. ...Read more

Im just worried will the anal skin tag cause me any sickness in health? Can i just leave it without doing any surgery?

Im just worried will the anal skin tag cause me any sickness in health? Can i just leave it without doing any surgery?

Leave it alone: If you have constipation, take a fiber laxative like Metamucil and drink enough water so that your urine is colorless. The skin tag is of no consequence. For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, low fat milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. Practice safe sex. Get HPV vaccine. ...Read more

Evaluation Is Needed: I needs to be evaluated, in person, preferably by the same physician who saw the previous lesions. In the meantime, take a picture of it with a ruler so you can readily show your surgeon how it is progressing. Hope you feel well, soon. ...Read more

What is the surgical procedure for removing a sebaceous cyst and skin tag?

Incision/hypercation: Sebaceous cysts are nasty. They need to be cut out and the 'coating' around them needs to be carefully removed or it will return. Skin tags are easy. They can be scrapped off, cyrofreezed off with liquid nitrogen or burned off with an electrical current. ...Read more

Surgical removal of skin tags (Tip)

Be aware that there are specialists in all areas these days. This applies to rehabilitation from surgery or injuries as well. I would advise you to seek out the experts and then let their advice become your routine. Time and space separate you from whatever initiated the damage. Focus on what you have and then go from there. Some of us will pass through life without splitting a toenail. Most of the rest of us are not so lucky. ...See more

After the surgical removal of the melanoma, will I need a skin graft?

After the surgical removal of the melanoma, will I need a skin graft?

Presacral ultrasound shows "thickening/edema of subcutaneous fatty tissue". PAINFUL and hard lump under the skin and can be felt. Surgical removal?

U/S is non specific: You need diagnosis. More history. The U/S adds a little but not enough. MRI would also add info, but again may not be enough. MRI would be most sensitive in seeing borders and might give useful info for a surgeon, for ex. vascularity. Only surgeons can decide on incisional bx. vs. excision. Hacking around is cheapest, but for me (a radiologist) MRI is good to avoid surprises and safe to do. ...Read more
